Stars of Twilight
Nobody anticipated that the Twilight movies were going to be raging hits. Originally targeting an audience consisting of female teenagers, the actors that were about to be catapulted to stardom had no way to see it coming. Never in any of their wildest imaginations did they believe that their audience was going to be composed of millions of people of all ages. People flocked to midnight premiers and the movies never failed to break box office records in less than a day.
Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan, is amazed at the success of the movies. Kristen began her acting career at the age of eight and has held several different roles throughout her career. Generally praised for her acting skills but lacking a movie that showcased her to her best advantage, Kristen was cast to the role of Bella and the movie went into production in 2008. She says that it is easy for her to project herself into her role because she and Bella are similar in character.
Robert Pattinson plays the role of Bella’s vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen, and is equally amazed. He was initially hesitant to take the role because he was worried that he could not live up to the perfection expected of the character. He need not have worried though; he won numerous awards for his role in the movie. Robert had experienced considerable success in supporting roles prior to being cast as Edward. Interestingly enough, he played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies.
Taylor Lautner was cast into the role of Jacob Black, Bella’s best friend and the third member of the love triangle. His role in the Twilight series is his first major role, though he has had numerous supporting roles. Taylor has been active in martial arts since he was young and had to change his physique considerably to keep the role of Jacob.
The young actors that accepted the roles in the original Twilight movie had no idea that they were going to be faces recognized around the world, but they are all enjoying their success.
